Flat Tyre on the Road? Here's What to Do Safely

Don't brake hard or swerve
The instinct when a tyre blows is to hit the brakes immediately, but hard braking on a suddenly unstable car can pull you into another lane. Instead, ease off the accelerator and let the car slow naturally while gripping the wheel firmly to correct any pulling to one side.
Signal early and move over gradually
Once you've regained control, indicate and move toward the hard shoulder or a safe verge in stages rather than one sharp movement, checking mirrors as traffic on UAE highways moves fast and drivers may not immediately register a slowing vehicle ahead.
Get as far off the carriageway as possible
A car half on the hard shoulder is still a hazard to fast-moving traffic. Where possible, continue slowly until you're fully clear of the driving lanes, ideally past any barrier or onto a wider section of shoulder, even if that means driving a short distance on a damaged tyre.
Turn on hazard lights immediately

On a busy highway, standing beside the car or attempting to change the tyre yourself is often more dangerous than the blowout itself. If you're on a fast, busy road like Sheikh Zayed Road, it's often safer to remain buckled in with hazards on and call for assistance than to exit into live traffic.
Know when a spare isn't the safe answer
Even if you're confident changing a tyre, a narrow hard shoulder on a highway at night or in heavy traffic is a genuinely risky place to kneel beside a jack.
